Happy Birthday Treat Tray

From plain old Dollar Store tray
Happy Birthday treat tray!
We thought it was time to expand our collection of party serving pieces and decided to do~it~ourselves!
This little craft project was fun, easy and budget friendly!

On our last trip to the Dollar Store, we picked up two silver
rectangular serving trays and two glass candlesticks for this project.

Using scrapbook paper, Mod Podge, black spray paint and Gorilla Glue we already had, we got to work decoupaging the tray. We cut the paper to fit on the tray in a layering fashion and decided to leave the silver rim of the tray for a more appealing modern look!

We spray painted the glass candlestick while the first coat of Mod Podge dried on the tray.
When the first coat of Mod Podge was dry, we applied a second coat. When everything was good and dry, we applied the glue to the candlestick and then onto the tray. {Follow directions on your choice of glue for best results}.

The Happy Birthday Treat Tray is ready for business!
Because of the choice of paper, we can use it for a boy or girl's party!
If you haven't decoupaged in awhile, and you are scratching your head for a craft idea, this just might be the little craft you need to get those creative juices flowing again!

We hope we have inspired you! Remember, keep it Homespun!

As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a sheild to all who trust in Him.
Psalm 18:30

  13. Those little Dollar Tree trays are some of my very favorite things they sell! I love keeping them on hand for bringing cookies to bake sales and school events because they look so nice, but I don't have to worry about getting them back. But, you made them look even better! Keepers, for sure! Beautiful!
