PB Soap Dish Knock Off

                      Bring a little sea~life into your bath!
Who doesn't love spending time at the water!
Be it the beach, ocean, shore.......bath tub...... whatever you want to call it!
This craft project was something we really wanted to try after seeing the inspiration for it here!
 We love the clean updated look, and for the price, well it goes without saying.

For this project you will need:
Soap dish {ours is from the Dollar Store}
Seashell, Gorilla Glue and spray paint {we used the color Dover}

What you need to do:
Spray paint your seashell {sorry about the poor quality photos. Using an older camera and was out under the lattice patio} You will only need one seashell for this project.
Make sure your soap dish is clean and dry.
Decide placement of your shell by playing around with it first, before applying glue.
Once you are happy with placement of the seashell, apply your glue on to the shell.{ We ended up using quite a bit more glue than normal to get the shell adhered to the soap dish since the shell and dish had little surface area to work with in terms of placement.
So the glue is a little noticeable without the soap in the dish.}
You will need to prop the shell up against some books or something to stabilize it while it tries.

And for the finished product......

We are happy with the results aside from the excess glue spillage and poor quality photo!
The inspiration piece, had feet on it and we liked that a lot, but unless of course we run across a soap dish in the near future with feet on it, this will have to do for now!
We have another idea to share with you tomorrow that is related to the beach trend that is taking place in decor!
Check back in tomorrow!

We hope we have inspired you!
Remember, keep it Homespun!

Whoever of you loves life
and desires to see many good days,
keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speaking lies.
Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.

  1. Simple and so sweet! I love beachy, and have some beach accents in our master bathroom. I'll have to keep an eye out for the supplies. Thanks for sharing. I'm stopping by from the Beyond the Picket Fence link party.

  2. That would just be perfect for my bathroom! Thanks for sharing and hope to see you next Thursday!

  3. If I could decorate my whole house in Pottery Barn decor I would!...I love this does not seem super difficult to recreate which I like even better.

  4. fabulous idea!! thanks for partying with whipperberry!

  5. Love how yours turned out!! So pretty!

  6. Very cute! Maybe you could try gluing on flat marbles as feet... you know those flat glass beads you get for fish tanks and decoratively strewing in bowls (if that made sense) they could work.
