Special Cupcake Holder For One

Make someone feel special! We all like to feel special! This pretty little cupcake for one will certainly do that! You may recall our post on our Pink and Purple Birthday party, where we used a very similar cupcake for one holder.Since we love bringing you budget savvy, homemade ideas, we thought you might like this for an upcoming party for someone special!

The materials you will need are:
Plastic martini glass. Tulle a couple inches long. Embellishments {we choose butterflies}.Roll of crepe paper streamers. A three inch circle cut from scrapbook paper. Hot glue. Scissor.

Directions:
Begin by cutting three strips of crepe paper twelve inches long, and then cut those in half.
Lay the strips onto of each other, evening them up, and fold in half length wise once.
Once you have your strips folded, hold them together and begin making  little cuts in the streamers on the opposite side of of the fold/seam. DO NOT CUT ALL THE WAY UP. You are making fringe, and need only a cut 1/2 way up. Continue to make fringe down the streamer.

Carefully open up the streamer and begin to rough it up by gently running your hand up and down the fringed part of the streamer.

Invert the martini glass{it will stay this way}, and begin gluing the fringe onto the bottom of the glass. You will need to tear off the fringe here and there off in some spots to get the glass covered. Continue the process until you are satisfied with the look. You can always add more if you like. Or use less if you like!

Remove the martini stand. Apply some glue and replace it. Glue your three inch circle to the martini stand.

Time to embellish! Before gluing on your embellishments, fluff up the fringe as needed. Glue on your butterflies or whatever you are using to the base as desired. Tie on your tulle around the top. Add a decoration to cover the tulle knot. Add a cupcake and you are done!

If you happen to have some left over party martini glasses, this is a good way to not let them go to waste! Simple, frugal and pretty all wrapped up in one!
We hope we have inspired you! We would love to see what you come up with, let us know!

Remember, keep it Homespun!
