Apple Wednesday:{Carmel Apple}

Fall. Pumpkins. Carmel Apples.Sometimes one is just not willing to sacrifice, entirely, the sweet treat traditions of Fall to maintain a healthy lifestyle. With that said we are happy to show you our version of the "Deconstructed Carmel Apple".
 Same great taste, only it is eaten by the slice!

While trying to maintain healthy eating habits, incorporating modest amounts of sweet treats and still feel satisfied, we thought instead of dipping the whole entire apple into Carmel, we would try slices.

This is what we used:
Fuji apples. Chopped nuts. Carmel Bits. Mini chocolate chips.

This is what the Carmel bits look like. They look like Chick Peas!
We melted the bag with two tablespoons of water on the stove.

We poured ever so carefully our melted yummy Carmel
 into our Max Brenner chocolate dipping bowls.
Would you believe we found these bowls at the thrift store,
 a set of two for $2.99!

We set up a mini Carmel apple dipping station with sliced apples,
 chopped nuts and mini chocolate chips.

There is no place like home!
You may end up eating a whole apples worth of slices they are so good!
We hope you are inspired! Remember, keep it Homespun!

Gold there is, and rubies in abundance,
but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel.
Proverbs 20:15
