Birthday Party:{Diary of a Wimpy Kid}

Boys Birthday Party!Recently we celebrated our son turning nine years old! He loves to read and his all time favorite collection of books right now is  "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series. It was only natural that he have a DOWK themed birthday party afterall! We got busy planning and designing elements to make this party special.
Here are just a few of the pictures for our Diary of a Wimpy Kid birthday party.

The Invitation:
Every party needs an invitaiton to set the tone!

                                                      Dessert Table Backdrop
                            Shower curtains are great to use for more than just the shower!
 We found ours at Grocery Outlet, in just the perfect black and white and abstract shapes.
We found some DOWK posters on line to use to bring the theme to life.

                                                 Dessert Table Sweets & Decorations
 We wanted to keep the sweets black and white, and added pops of color using other elements. Tootsie pops covered in checked fabric, black & white gum balls and we made pretzels to look like No.2 pencils by dipping one end of a pretzel in milk chocolate{pencil lead} and the other end in pink candy melts{eraser}.
We used school composition books for height and interest, we copied our DOWK book covers, and taped them onto a skewer and placed them in with the sweets stands.
