Halloween Candles:{DIY Glitter Spiders}

They are creepy and they are spooky! No, we are not talking about the Adam's Family, although this time of year does conjure up the old school classics's! What we are referring to are our Halloween spider candles with their sparkling bodies that dance off the soft amber candle Halloween glow.

              What would Halloween decorating be without a few spiders?! Even if you are sared to death of real spiders, we can somehow find enough courage to live with a few {fake ones} scattered around the Halloween house. Not true at all of rubber rats and mice! Just plain YUCK!!!

  Super simple to turn some ordinary plastic spiders into a more glamorous Halloween spider!
                                                             Here is what you will need:
Plastic spiders. {we had a big bag of spider rings left over from last Halloween} Glue.{we used Mod Podge} Paint brush. Super fine glitter {found ours at The Dollar Tree}

                           Begin by brushing your spider with a good coat of Mod Podge.
Sprinkle your glitter on the spider liberally
and catch the excess with a paper plate or paper towel to resue.

Let dry and touch up if necessary.

   Now, have fun playing with them and tucking them into your Halloween decor!

Don't you just love how it is okay to have spiders and cobwebs on your Halloween mantel and in your house this time of year! We are usually so quick to rid our homes of these Halloween vistors. So if we neglect a little dusting during this time, we can just chalk it up to "Halloween decorating" . Maybe they won't notice!
Remember, keep it Homespun!

  1. As I was decorating for our Halloween party the other day, I found a spot in my house that had been a bit neglected and was covered in dust - I left it and will definitely say it is supposed to look that way:) Your spiders look great.
