We decided we wanted a clean, white somewhat frosty look to our candles for Christmas and choose to use vellum as the "canvas". We could embellish the vellum and have our candles not permanently changed.
What we used: Old pillar candles. Vellum sheets. Ribbon. Double sided tape. Scissor. Christmas rubber stamp. Ink.
Directions for un-inked candles below:
Lay down your vellum. Place your candle laying down on the vellum and mark to measure the width and length of the candle.
Cut the vellum at your markings.
Place your candle down on your cut vellum. Wrap vellum around candle and secure with double sided tape. Keep the tape off the candle and tape in on the overlapped vellum seam.
Take your ribbon and starting at the seam in the back of the candle, tape the ribbon on and wrap in and interesting way. Meet back at the seam and tape.
Directions for inked candles below:
Lay your vellum out flat.Cut and measure to fit your candle. Ink up your stamp and stamp onto the vellum as desired. Be careful not to touch the vellum, the ink takes a while to completely dry before handling.
Once the ink has dried, wrap the vellum around your candle and secure with double sided tape.
Embellish with ribbon if desired.
Changing out the look of your candles with candle wraps is one of the most cost effective, quick and simple ways to decorate year round. There are so many possibilities for a candle wrap. Be creative and have fun! Be inspired!
