Family Blessings Book

Family Traditions.  This year we wanted to add a new family tradition to our other family traditions at Thanksgiving, so we came up with the idea of a family blessings book. A special little book that holds the many things our family counts as blessings, written in their very own handwriting, to be passed down through the generations for years to come.

This is the begging our our blessings book. We found it at Michael's for a little over a dollar.

                                 It is really constructed well, good and sturdy.

We used some Anna Griffin decoupage paper to cover the front and back of the book. Our blessings rubber stamp. And left over  metallic flower from our Cinderella Pumpkins post.

First we cut to size the paper for the front and back covers. Then stamped "blessings" on the paper to be applied to the front cover of the book.

Applied our metallic flower to the front cover of the book.

Love the paper inside the book. It is really organic looking. We stamped the tops of the pages with our blessings stamp.

Our thinking is that on Thanksgiving we will pass this book around and ask the family to write down their blessings. Next year we will bring it out, read it and write in it again.

Glue the covers onto the front and back of the book.

This book should not take too much time to fill since we have all been so blessed in so many ways.
We hope we have inspired you! Remember, keep it Homespun!

You are my refuge and my shield;
I have put my hope in Your word.
