Turkey Hunt:{Kids Play}

Ready, Set, Go!This children's activity will get them up and moving! Either indoors or outdoors, just get moving! This fun little game will keep the little ones, and probably some of the bug folk busy for awhile. After all that good food is gobbled up, get everyone up and moving to find the hidden Thanksgiving turkeys!

What you will need is a container to hold your turkey cut outs in from year to year. We used a recycled bouillon container that worked perfectly. A piece of scrap book paper cut to fit around the outside of the container. A paper cup and pipe cleaner was  made into the little gathering vessel for the children to keep their little turkey's they find in.

Start off by decorating your container with your scrap book paper.

Download your Turkey Hunt printables from The Toymaker. Cut out your turkey's using a 2" round punch.
You could also cover the turkey cutouts in contact paper or some other craft material to protect them.

You can download your turkey's at The Toy Maker.  Print off as many as you need.

                               Keep your turkeys safe in the container until ready to play.

To make the cup to hold the collected turkey's in simply punch one whole on each side of the cut. Insert the pipe into the wholes and twist to secure. Add a turkey to the front of the cup for decoration.

Have the older children or an adult set about to hide all the turkey pieces around the house or outdoors. As the children find them they can collect them in their cups. To determine a winner, the child with the most turkey's found is the winner! It is up to you if you want to give out a prize or just accolades.

This game should keep the kids busy for awhile. They will probably think up a dozen other ways to use the game in the process. Have fun little turkeys! Gobble! Gobble! Remember, keep it Homespun!
