This year instead of gifting one of those large, pretty red heart boxes full of chocolate, we decided to downsize the chocolate box to a more intimate, portion control appropriate box. Yes, we are going to have chocolate on Valentine's Day only a little more civilized. So this is what we came up with.
We found these heart shaped paper mache boxes at Michael's for under a dollar. We used two different types of Valentine's card stock and red glitter. We decorated the boxes with lace trim and Valentine embellishments we had.
You will need some mini cupcake papers and some chocolate that will fit into the heart shaped box. Either one large piece like the size of a truffle or about three heart shaped wrapped chocolates like Dove dark chocolate.
Trace and cut the box lid and box base out. Glue paper cut outs onto the base and lid. We left the sides of the paper covered lids in their original state and glued on a piece of vintage lace around the edges. Next we glued on in layers some foam hearts on one box and some heart table scatter on the other box. Lastly line your heart box with a mini cupcake liner and fill as desired.
So this Valentine's Day give the box of chocolate they love, only a little smaller, but still full of lots of love! Be inspired, get creative!
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes,
But the Lord weighs the hearts.
But the Lord weighs the hearts.
