Blue Spring Wreath

                                    What Blue symbolizes...

Blue is the coolest color - the color of the sky, ocean, sleep twilight. The ancient Egyptians used lapis lazuli to represent heaven. Blue symbolizes the Virgin Mary. A pure blue is the color of inspiration, sincerity and spirituality.

Blue is often the chosen color by conservative people. Dark blue is the color of truth and moderation.

A blue iris means your friendship is very important to me. Wednesday's color is blue. Blue gemstones to wear to feel calm are blue sapphire and blue topaz. {source and to learn more}

For some reason right in the middle of the Easter season, this beautiful color blue started calling out, and the more it called, the more persuaded we were to use it as our after Easter Spring mantle theme color. Whether you believe any of the color blue symbolism above or not, one thing we can agree on is it is a beautiful color to have in the home.

To make our Blue Spring Wreath we used a smalllish grapevine wreath. Some light blue and dark blue string or "fur". A satin ribbon.

Using the light blue fur string first, we wrapped it around the wreath several times. Than we did the same with the dark blue fur string.

We tied our blue satin ribbon on the side of the wreath and used a white picture frame we took the glass and back out of to display our Blue Spring Wreath in.

What makes this wreath pleasing to the eye is not so much the shape or the design, but it is the color. And we love that we kept it monochromatic and did not get too Spring fancy with it. Be inspired. Get creative!

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice;
But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.

Proverbs 29:2
