Handmade Cat In The Hat "Hat" Treats

You can do it!

Here is a super fun, super easy way to bring even more party theme to your Cat In The Hat party.  In case you missed any of our previous party posts, you can find them  here and here.

With only three ingredients that are easy to find and easy to work with you can have another fun element for the party in no time!

What you will need:

White chocolate chips or candy melts 1 bag
Red candy melts or white candy melts tinted red 1 bag
Large marshmallows
Wax paper or parchment paper
Large

What to do:
Line a coolie sheet with wax paper. Melt your white chips or candy melts first according to package directions. Once melted, using a teaspoon, spoon some white chocolate out onto the try in a small circle. Continue doing this for as many as you will need hats. This is the making of the rim of the hat. Set aside to set up.

Next, line another tray. Melt red chips. Dip one end of the marshmallow in the red chocolate and set it aside to set with the dipped side facing up. Once these are set, do the other side and immediately place it on top on your hardened white chocolate disc. It should be looking like a hat at this point. Leave to set up. Store in air tight container in refrigerator until ready to use.

There really is no right or wrong way to make these. The imperfectness of them gives them that Dr. Seuss character don't you think?

Love the way the red candy melts dried on top making it look like the "hats" were leaning.

Just a few ideas for these Hat treats:
Place on the dessert table as another dessert treat. Place setting at the birthday table. Take home favor by placing them into party favor bags. Cupcake toppers. Put them on a stick.

What ideas can you think of?!
