Buttons & Ribbons Summer Flip Flops

Fancied up summer flip flops!

Turn an okay pair of flip flops into something more YOU this summer! Do you ever just want to add a little extra something to that, say, purse, belt or in this case... summer flip flops!
Well we did, and that is what we did!

Never overlook Targets dollar section. At our local Target, and possibly all Targets, they have strategically located the dollar section right at the entrance of the store so you have to go past it when you walk in.

So with our Target flip flops in hand, this is what we did.

We choose cute, summer themed flip flops. And while to most they are fine the way they are...we on the other hand wanted to give them a little more style.

We pulled out some coordinating pink and green ribbon to use on the watermelon flip flops and dug around in our button jar for pink, purple, green, yellow and black buttons for the animal print flip flops.

We simply cut more or less the same length of ribbon for both flip flops and knotted them on the strap of the flip flop.

Love the watermelon seeds on the inside of the flip flop!

We guess you know which pair is our favorite!!!

For our button flip flops we hot glued together different buttons and glued them onto the strap.

Why settle for a boring flip flop this summer when you can doll it up yourself with some simple and inexpensive sewing/craft items?!
Be inspired. Get creative!

Do not overwork to be rich;
Because of your own understanding, cease!
Will you set your eyes on that which is not?
For riches certainly make themselves wings;
They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.
Proverbs 23:4-5

  3. How many ribbons did you use on the pink flip flops? I have seen them where the ribbon is all the way down the strap, but I like how many you used, I think its just enough.
