Autumn Mantel

The love of Autumn

That time of year thou mayst in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
Bare ruined choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.
In me thou see’st the twilight of such day
As after sunset fadeth in the west;
Which by and by black night doth take away,
Death’s second self, that seals up all in rest.
In me thou see’st the glowing of such fire,
That on the ashes of his youth doth lie,
As the deathbed whereon it must expire,
Consumed with that which it was nourished by.
This thou perceiv’st, which makes thy love more strong,
To love that well which thou must leave ere long.
                                                                   Sonnet 73 by William Shakespeare

We put together a simple, colorful Autumn Mantel this season to reflect how we see Autumn. Often times Autumn is associated with Fall, however there are two differing schools of thought on this. We choose to understand Autumn as the lead up to Fall. The leaves are still on the trees, and are changing colors and slowly beginning to drop. The air and light have taken on a different feel and look. You just sense the change.

Have you began to notice the leaves on trees and plants beginning their change?

From gold to red, it such a beautiful sight.

The natural lighting in your home comes in a little differently and plays off your decor.

The nesting instincts begin to entertain thoughts of family gatherings.

And how you will decorate for the season.

The colors of Autumn belong all to themselves and are happy to share.

What plans have you for welcoming in Autumn? Be inspired, get creative!

To show partiality is not good,
Because for a piece of bread a man will transgress.

I asm afraid one of thse dayhs the Home Improvement store police will nab me as a result of watching me all to frequently visiting the paint department collecting "paint sample chips." Oh well back I go again for another collecting mission.
