Boys Room Makeover Pt.2

A little change is always good! Moving on to Part 2 of our Boys Room Makeover. Here is Part 1 in case you missed it.Continuing on with some more little changes. Having a cool little space to write, post pictures of friends and draw on was easy to accomplish in our boys room makeover with these pre-made silver, magnetic dry erase boards we found at a discount store.

We turned a closet door into a place for a boy to doodle, post and display his creativity!
You may have seen over the Spring and Summer, these initial, black and white drawer knobs at the craft store. We did, and picked up some not sure at the time what we would use them for ex actually.

When we started the boys room make over, we quickly found out these would make cool magnets for the silver magnetic boards.

To make the drawer knob magnets, we removed the screw from the knob.

Using some round magnets and a glue gun, we attached the magnets to the knobs.

To secure the boards to the closet door surface, we used some adhesive strips by Command since the strips that came with the boards would not hold the boards to the wall for any length of time. These are strong and do what they say.

Once all the boards were securely in place, it was time to do a little board decor!

As part of the boys room makeover, my son got a new loft/desk bed. This has allowed for more space and organization, and really updated the room a lot. {Hope to bring you a look at the bed in the near future.}

For the desk, we decided to re-purpose some cans into pencil holds by covering them in some colorful duct tape.

Checkered flag printed duct tape can.

A boys love of skulls printed duct tape.

And a solid apple green duct tape, reminiscent of the old bedroom color.

We hope you have enjoyed seeing a few of the ideas we came up with to makeover a boys room in our home. We didn't spend a lot of money or time on the makeover. I really let my son help in the items selections, {it is his space after all}, and that made the project  much more enjoyable for all of us.

Be inspired. Get creative!

Cease listening to instruction, my son,
And you will stray from the words of knowledge.
