Something made of paper. Our stockings are hung by the chimney with care! Our paper stocking garland is the last "star" of our Red & White Christmas Mantel. Doing things a little differently this year, we really wanted to do more handmade, homemade and homespun Christmas decor.
What we used to make our paper stocking garland:
Cricut cutting machine with the Joys of the Season cartridge. These paper stockings can always be cut free hand or a stocking template can be found on the internet.
Scrap ribbon. Tape. Scissors. Pom poms.
To hang our stockings on we simply attached the loop on the stocking to the red berry garland we had on the mantel and than ran a string of pom pom yarn on the mantel to give the look as though the stockings were attached to it. {Hope that makes sense.}
Decorating the paper stocking garland:
After cutting out the stockings, we took a pom pom and stuck it to a glue dot and onto the trim area of the stocking.
Using a little piece of scrap ribbon, we tied it onto the paper loop of the stocking.
Just a few simple steps and done. These can be as simple or more embellished as you like.
If you look closely, you will see the simple attachment we used with the berry garland and than how we added in the pom pom garland as well.
We especially love the little touch on the tip of the toe!
How will you be decorating your Christmas mantel this season? We would love to share the love of mantel decorating with others by sharing a picture of your mantel on the blog. Simply email your photo to: homespunwithlove@gmail.com.

ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable idea! I love the little pom pom embellishments on the stockings -- especially on the tip of the toe! :-)
