Mr. McGregor's Garden Smoothie

Still love the childhood story of Peter Rabbit and how old Mr. McGregor almost caught poor Peter in his garden.

Peter was wise  enough to know that all those garden vegetables were full of health and life! And he was willing to take a chance on getting caught, just to feed his body.

Mr. McGregor's Garden Smoothie recipe is really any and all of the glorious garden vegetables and fruits you want to use.

We used: beets. carrots. strawberries. ginger. kale. spinach.

Put everything into the Vita-Mix, added about 2 cups of water, a little ice and blended until smooth.

The color is amazingly beautiful. The health benefits  as Peter Rabbit knew, off the chart and the taste.... ummm, a little earthy. Okay..... it taste like dirt...but in a good, healthy way. Just being honest.

Since we have just started adding beets to our smoothies, and not ever really liking beets, but sucking it up for the health benefits, it will take a little getting use to.

Honestly, after a few sips it got better!Still a little earthy, but okay.

Thought about sweetening it up some with some Agave, but decided to just leave it and get use to those flavors.

So like Peter Rabbit we have to be willing to crawl under that fence and give some new flavors a try for the health of our bodies, and if we get caught on the fence, we need to just work through it until we are free.

A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.

  1. I would try it too but without the spinach!

  2. No matter how it tastes, it looks beautiful. What gorgeous pictures!

  3. I would definitely try this but I don't think I could handle the beets.. Tastes a little like dirt? LOL I thought everything in the world was supposed to "Taste like chicken"?..
