Thank you so much for stopping by today! We have some easy shabby mantel birdhouses to share with you today.
Are the birds signing outside your windows like they are ours?! It really makes one happy to hear them singing sweet praises to their Creator don't you think.
We painted the birdhouses and the square pieces of wood white. Our intentions were to paint the candle sticks white too, but once we did, we did not like how they looked and quick;y washed the paint off. We like the more natural look with the white of the birdhouse better.
Once each birdhouse was painted and dried, we set about making the birdhouses shabby with some trims.
Here is the star birdhouse. We incorporated a little of all the trims onto each birdhouse in different ways.
Here is the double hole birdhouse.
And the single hole birdhouse.
Here is a look at the candle stick left natural. We only glued the candle stick to the square piece of wood and just placed the birdhouses on the candle stick without gluing because we know there is going to come a time in the future when we are going to want to use the candle sticks in a different way.
And who knows, we may even end up painting them too!
Springtime and birdhouses. A lovely little match.
