Healthy Living/ Almond Vanilla Magnesium Foot Scrub

If you are like us, we love having a variety of body scrubs to choose from. From one mood to the next, we like to change things up! So today we are sharing with you an almond vanilla magnesium foot scrub. 
Of course this could be used all over the body, but at the time we needed to make one, it was for our poor feet.
Are you aware of the health benefits of magnesium?

Magnesium is extremely important for your health because it is needed for more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body. Magnesium is fourth most prevalent mineral in the body and is partially responsible for countless aspects good, sound health. Roughly 50% of our body’s total magnesium is stored in our bones, while the remaining part of magnesium is predominantly found in the cells of body tissues and organs. Only 1% of magnesium is available in blood, although the human body is very good at regulating a constant level of magnesium in the blood.
Magnesium is needed to keep muscle and nerve functions normal and to keep the heart beating rhythmically. It also helps to support a healthy immune system, and keeps bones strong. Magnesium is important in terms of regulating blood sugar levels,, thereby promoting normal blood pressure. Magnesium also supports energy metabolism and protein synthesis. Magnesium has a positive effect on the treatment of disorders such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and diabetes. According to the National Academy of Sciences, via, many of us are deficient in magnesium, and soaking in a bath with Epsom Salt of a foot scrub/foot bath, which is high in magnesium is one of the easiest ways to get a boost. 

Our recipe is adapted from the Wellness Mama who admire and respect for all her health and healing wisdom.

            Almond Vanilla Magnesium Foot Scrub
1 cup Epsom salt 
1/4 cup olive oil {could use coconut, almond or another type}
3 tablespoons Almond liquid castile soap {we use Dr. Bronner's}
15 drops of Vanilla essential oil {more or less if you prefer}
Clean dry jar with a lid {love using mason jars!}

In a small glass bowl add your ingredients adding the oil last to adjust for personal scent. Blend well. Place mixture into jar and seal. Use about a tablespoon on feet and/or body. Rinse and pat dry.

Simple and easy to make and use and help boost your levels of magnesium.Don't forget, this makes a nice little "thinking of your health" gift for someone too!
