Red Hot Valentine Play Dough

Who loves cinnamon Red Hots, Hot Tamales and Jolly Rancher Fire Sticks?!

Well, this Red Hot Valentine Play Dough smells like each one of those candies!!! Can't say it tastes like any of those candies...but it sure is fun!

Red Hot Play Dough Recipe

1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon cream of tarter
1 cup water
cinnamon essential oil
food coloring (just add until you get the desired color)

• mix all of the ingredients  together in a sauce pan.
• place on medium high heat on the stove
• stir frequently until the dough starts pulling away from the sides of the pan.
• remove from the stove.
• let dough cool enough to handle, then knead the dough, adding several drops of cinnamon essential oil.
• place it in an airtight container.

Should keep for up to one month.

NOTE: If you are concerned about cinnamon oil irritating little ones eyes, you can try using less when kneading it into the dough or try adding it to the recipe on the stove so it is not so concentrated. Possibly cinnamon extract would work in the recipe on the stove, although we have not experimented with it.

Let the fun Valentine heart making begin!!!

Love the symbolic single heart.

We always love sharing our homemade play dough with others. This is a simple way to gift it to another.

Use a festive treat bag, a piece of ribbon and a hang tag made with a square of card stock and heart stamp.

Making memories is so much fun!

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
