Easy Homemade Fizzie Bath Salt Recipe

The next time you are drawing the tub for a soak... add some easy homemade Fizzie Bath Salts to the water for an extra special experience!

While you are soaking in a tub of good for you ingredients, you will be treated to an aromatherapy experience as well!

Sit back and enjoy!!!

Fizzie Bath Salts Recipe

  • 4 cups of salt. That can be any kind of salt you like – epsom salt, sea salt, etc, or a mixture of them.
  • 2 cups baking soda.
  • 1 cup citric acid.
  • 40-50 drops of essential oil. Any mixture of essential oils you like.
  • 10-20 drops of color. Skin-safe / cosmetic grade soap colorant.
What to do:
  1. Mix up your salts first in a bowl.
  2. Next, add the baking soda, and mix that in with the salts.
  3. Now mix in the essential oils and mix them in well to get rid of any lumps.
  4. Add the food coloring. A little goes a long way, so it's best to start with just a little – it's easy to add more if you want a stronger color.
  5. Last, add the citric acid.
  6. Give the whole thing a really good mix, then pour it into waterproof jars. It's important not to let water get at your new fizzy bath salts, because that will start the fizzing before you want it!
To Use: Fill tub, get in and than add the salts to experience the fizz!

NOTE: This recipe makes a lot of bath salt. What we did was to divide the recipe up in thirds and make 3 different scented fizzie bath salts.

We made 1 batch of lavender, lemon and peppermint (good for seasonal allergies), 1 batch of mint and 1 batch of Lime in da coconut using a premixed oil we had on hand.

Following the base recipe above, you can make a variety of interesting fizzie bath salts with amazing scent!

If your fizzie bath salts get a little hard, just break them up with a spoon and they will be fine.

KEEP IN A COOL DRY AREA

This is our lavender, lemon and peppermint salt.

This is our mint bath salt.

And last but not least, lime in da coconut bath salt.

There are so many ways to decant these bath salts. We used large and small mason jars and even prettied up a couple to give as a little gift!

These fizzie bath salts are amazing used as just a foot bath where your feet are tired and aching.

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
