budget savvy ~ Kitchen Nook Decor Update

With Summer coming to an end, and back to school about to start, it was time to make a few home decor updates to our kitchen nook slash, homework center slash hangout.

Recently we showed you our
Black and White Wreath, and now it is time to show you what we did , budget savvy of course with our
Kitchen Nook Decor Update.

This is where it all began...with our bistro chair reupholster.
We found some reasonably priced fabric on line to cover our chairs with and had some extra for our wreath.

If you would like to try your hand at reupholstering your chairs here is a great tutorial to help you out.

It is not at all difficult. The hardest part for us is getting the right amount of fabric...we always over estimate!

And our black and white wreath from scrap pieces of the chair fabric.

Just a simple wrap and hot glue process with a little flower embellishment in our kitchen colors.

We had to add some signage in the nook so we used a piece of plywood laying around, chalkboard paint and cricut letter cutouts we glued on  to spell "AMORE"!!!

We got our inspiration to make photo clip boards after seeing this post.

We found a set of 4 clipboards at the stationary store. Unfortunately, these are not the old fashion ones where you could unscrew the clip from the board, so we had to spray paint the entire the clip and board.

We love the addition of the words in the nook!!! There are simple peel and stick decals we found at Target.

And so we come to the end our our nook makeover and as you can see, no big major purchases or drastic changes...but enough to make it "seem" like we did!

These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. ... "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me."
Revelation 3:14 & 3:20
