home decor ~ Black and White Wreath

Have you been working on many home decor projects over the Summer?!

We have been working on a couple budget savvy projects mainly focusing on the kitchen nook.

Like this one today... our Black & White Wreath.

The fabric we used on the wreath is from our reupholstered kitchen nook bistro chairs (will share in a future post).

We love black and white and are super happy as it is a VERY big trend in home fashion/decor this we are right on trend...without even trying!!!

To make our Black & White Wreath we used

Foam wreath form we already had. Fabric scraps cut into wide strips. Hot glue. Red cars stock to make a medallion/pinwheel. Yellow silk flower.

We began by wrapping and gluing the fabric onto the wreath form. Next we pleated a piece on cardstock and glued it onto wreath. Final step was to glue the silk flower onto the red medallion.

To hang the wreath we wiggled a piece of wire through some of the fabric on the back of the wreath and made a loop hanger.

As mentioned earlier, we have been focusing on our nook. We wanted to give it a more modern look without having to repaint or do a total remodel. So adding some fresh new decor pieces gives us something different on a budget.

Until next time...keep crafting!

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1

  1. Love this! I'm happy to see the colors you used here. My kitchen started out being red, but has now evolved into a red, black and white kitchen. :) This gives me an idea. You're good at that! I really love your simple instructions and budget savvy ideas. Thanks for the inspiration!

  2. Stopping by from Show and Tell Saturday link party. Love the colors and fabric you used. Simply beautiful!
