Chocolate Paleo Halloween Doughnuts

Are you in the mood for some homemade baked Chocolate Paleo Halloween Doughnuts?!

We found a great recipe that although, Paleo, is not overly dry and has lots of flavor.

We found today's recipe over at Running To The Kitchen.

These will definitely be on our make again list!

  • ¾ cup almond flour
  • ¼ cup unsweetened dark cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 3 eggs (separated)
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
NOTE: Recipe made 8 doughnuts in standard size doughnut pan.

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl combine almond flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.
  3. Separate eggs and combine yolks with remaining wet ingredients.
  4. Add wet ingredients to dry and stir until combined.
  5. Beat egg whites with a hand held mixer until light and fluffy.
  6. Fold egg whites into batter until just combined.
  7. Pour batter into donut pan.
  8. Bake for 12-13 minutes. Remove from pan and transfer to cooling rack.

Icing:  1 bag Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips and 1 teaspoon coconut oil. Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in double boiler and slowly melt. Dip cooled doughnuts into chocolate and  set and a on tray to set up. Apply sprinkles if using.

These are a great alternative to fried doughnuts and you can feel good about the clean ingredients in the doughnut recipe and feeding them to your family and friends.

We hope you will give these a try!

Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.
