Dollar Store Drink Coaster Ornaments

We decided on a White Christmas theme this year and unfortunately, needed more white decorations to decorate with than we had on hand. Not wanting to spend a lot on new decorations we knew we had to come up with some crafty ideas.

While at the Dollar Store we noticed a new line of white and silver plates, cups and coasters. While standing their looking at the items, mainly the coasters, it finally came to us...
Drink Coaster Ornaments for the Christmas Tree!

To make our Drink Coaster Ornaments we used:

Dollar Store coasters
Silver pipe cleaners
Scraps of ribbon
Hole punch
Hot glue
Metallic paint & sponge applicator
Metallic elastic wrapping ribbon to use as the ornament hanger

To make the ornament we:

Stenciled on our words onto the coasters and allowed them to dry. Once dry we used the holepunch and made a hole in the coaster. (This was the hardest part of the project since the cardboard is really sturdy).
Glued the pipe cleaner around the coaster. It will take 1 and about 1" of another to fit around the ornament.
Tied a bow on to the coaster through the hole and attached our hanger.

We chose the words "Believe" and "Joy" to stencil onto our ornaments.
Appropriate for this time of year.

Not bad for a Dollar Store find!

In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
Hebrews 1: 1-2
