Recipe Wednesday:{Love Potion No.9}

What is red and good for your heart?! A big red heart shaped box of chocolate? Maybe. If you answered our Love Potion No.9 you are correct! More specifically, the ingredients in our Love Potion is what is good for your heart. We did a little creative magic mixing of this and a little of that, and made a healthy for your heart, pretty and tasty Love Potion No.9 we would like to share with you.

The main heart healthy ingredients in this Love Potion are: Pomegranates and Cranberries. Here are some health facts for you to consider.

Pomegranates are full of antioxidants. These are vitamins and enzymes known for keeping low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or “bad” cholesterol from oxidizing and causing atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries. Organic pomegranate seeds act a lot like aspirin, keeping blood platelets from sticking together and forming dangerous blood clots. {source}

Cranberry a source of vitamin C and dietary fiber. It also contains manganesecalciumphosphoruspotassiumsodiumvitamin A and beta-carotene. A member of the Ericaceae family, cranberry is native to North America. Known for helping to prevent urinary tract infection. Prevents tooth decay and helps the cardiovascular stytem. {source}

And now here is the recipe

Love Potion No.9 Recipe
{Pomegranate Fizz adaptaded from Ina Garten}

16oz. Unsweetened Pomegranate juice.
16oz. Sparkling water.
2 Cups Unsweetened Cranberry Juice.
1/2oz Fresh squeezed lime juice.
2 Tablespoons Agave nectar. {add more if desired}
{when possible, use Organic ingredients}

Have all your ingredients ice cold prior to mixing. Add all ingredients into a mixing pitcher. Mix and transfer over into a nice decanter for serving . Ice in glasses is optional. Enjoy the love potion!

The scarlet color alone is enough to draw you in, and add to it all of its health properties, and well, you got a good thing indeed.
